HISTORY
This is the oldest part of the foldyard buildings, with the part that is now the living room dating back to the 16th century, at the same time as iron was being manufactured on the site. See the history of the farm It is thought it was used as a sawmill, cutting timber for uses such as making the water wheel and sluice gates. Built on to in the 17th century, which added the second floor and doubled the floor space. The building would have stood alone for roughly 100 years before more building work took place. During this 100 or so years it would have performed many functions as the sole building, from housing a few animals to storing winter food
