Meet the Animals

Obviously a farm should have animals and we at Hurst Farm are no different. We have our very own 'Pets Corner' where you're welcome to meet some of our friendliest animals, all with their own unique personalities.  

Horses and ponies

The family have always had an interest in horses and ponies, and all year round it is possible to meet them at the gates. They are always on the lookout for sugar lumps and other tit bits!

Lambs

Every Spring we take in a few orphan lambs from neighbouring farms to hand rear. These lambs are bottle fed four times a day and are extremely friendly. The kids will love these fluffy friendly creatures.

Hens

We have a few free range hens about the farm. These former battery house hens are very curious and can be seen all around the farm. If you have a few bread crumbs you can set off on an adventure to find them.

Pigs, Poppy & Doris

We have two Kune-Kune pigs on the farm - a rare breed from New Zealand. Their names are Poppy and Doris and they are very curious and come over when you call them. Or should I say they are not curious but greedy and are always after any leftovers that you have.

Dogs

As you may well have already seen we are a pet-friendly establishment and gladly welcome most animals to the farm. It would be very difficult not to as we have always had and loved dogs/animals ourselves. We think that this is the perfect environment for the family pet to relax and unwind. My dog - Holly.
