Description
The Dairy, as the name suggests, is a former milking parlour, converted in 1999 to a holiday let.
There is a ground floor twin bedroom adjacent to the bathroom. Ideal if one of your group struggles with stairs. Upstairs there is an emperor-sized double bed (can be made into two singles), plus a fun twin bed attic room. Between the bedrooms there is a shower/wc. On the ground floor is also the fully-fitted kitchen and family living room.
The Dairy has twin-tier pricing. It can be rented based on 5 or more people, or 4 or less people. Quite often we would get enquiries from two couples or a family of four, and this we feel is a good way of using the Dairy.
History
Built onto the granary in the 1920s, this was a purpose-built dairy for what was, in those times, a large herd of about 30 cows. State of the art at the time, it has been updated and modernised to keep with the times. It was used right up to the 1980s when we were milking up to 180 cows. The passage of time then finally caught up with it and the milking was moved to a purpose built modern facility on another site on the farm. The building then became a store for seed grain and feed concentrates, all of which had to find a new home when we started the conversions.
